I never respond to, reblog or quote other posts in this way but kinda felt the need to since I was one of these people being referred to and really there were probably about three, maybe four, of us on tumblr. So it felt almost like one of those annoying, passive-aggressive, I’m-talking-about-you-but-not-saying-it-directly-to-you situations.
"So I’m going through the Christina Aguilera tag…and I see people calling her a bitch for her coaching or banter…I just love how when she speaks her mind she’s a bitch…but if the guys do it it’s nothing…and it’s sad to see that it’s mostly other women who are calling XTina a bitch…I pity you if society has made you hate your own gender"
1 - There’s a difference between genuinely speaking one’s mind with honest and equal feedback and the overall bitchy behavior (giving overly judgemental critiques to certain people but not others, openly bashing people, etc.)
2 - If the guy’s behaved that way, they’d be assholes. But they don’t. This is not a double standard issue.
3 - Who said anything about hating all women? Again, not a gender/women-bashing-women issue. It’s about one specific person acting like a hypocritical bitch and my not being afraid of pointing it out.
I mean, let’s not be blind fangirls and pretend like these things aren’t true. There was a reason why the majority of The Voice viewing audience wanting Shakira back. It’s why Christina has seemingly changed drastically. Because what she was doing before wasn’t working and apparently she can’t seem to keep up the act for too long.
Rant over. I just can’t stand when people jump to conlusions or pull out the “hater” card when you have something to say. Which by the way sounds awfully familiar.. Just speaking my mind after all.
